About Me

My photo
Hello! My name is Andrea. Now days people better know me as Auntie in the MPG world of Wartune or Auntie Andrea in the world of Graphics and Scrapbookings. I fell in love with graphics design back in the 90's and going strong since. Learned how to use Daz, Poser, Photoshop and PSP from online tutorials. Many of my designs are on Cafepress, Zazzle, Spreadshirt and many other POD sites. I also have my own website going, well crawling really. Besides graphics I play Wartune. Got addicted back when the US version first became available back in 2012. I am a Guild Master of Exodus, a very friendly bunch of people, I call my online Family. So this is me in a nut shell...

DIY Mother's Day Clock

Mother's Day is creeping up on us very fast, but you still have time to make a neat clock for your Mom.

You need:
my attached template clocktagger.png or your own
a colour printer
a graphic program*
a sheet of full page sticker for the printer
a small clock from the dollar store
12 picture of you, your family or things your Mom likes
about an hour of your time
You will need to take the small clock apart. Measure the clock face so that you know what size the template should be resized to. The attached template is a transparent png file.
The best graphic program for this project is a one that allows you to work with layers. I would suggest Paint.net a free image and photo editing software for Windows based PC’s. It has full support for layers and special effects, the tools are top notch and highly recommended by many users. There is a strong online community for support and frequent updates to the software. It is comparable to Adobe Photoshop.
You will need to resize and crop your 12 images to fit behind the template. Once everything is in order, I suggest that you print a sample page before printing the actual sticker. Once you are satisfied with your sample you are ready to print the sticker. After printing, make sure to cut it to the exact size of the clock face.
Stick the final sticker to your clock face, re-assemble your clock and there you have it....you are now ready to wrap your unique Mother's Day gift.
* Here is a list of free graphic programs that are very similar to many of the commercial software like Photoshop or Corel Draw:
Gimp
Ultimate Paint
Skencil Pixia
InkScape
Paint.net
SmoothDraw NX
ImageForge
Brush Strokes
Project Dogwaffle
Sodipodi
Karbon14
ArtWeaver
GimpShopdotnet
ImageMagick
If you are not adventurous enough to tackle this project, you can contact me and I will do it for you for a small fee.

Have fun!!!
